Fat, Dead, & in a Dungeon

You died at your desk. It gets worse.

Platform: Android, portrait, touch

The Premise

A middle-aged office worker dies at his desk after years of overwork, his final keystroke unfinished. Instead of rest, his soul is intercepted by a Dark God who finds the whole thing funny and drops him into a collapsing dungeon with one instruction: descend or be erased.

The dungeon takes its shape from his memories. Floors are departments. Enemies are coworkers, managers, policies, and failing office machines. Rewards are promotions, overtime, and stolen company property. The only weapon he gets is the keyboard he died on, and a new one appears every time he throws it.

He is not a chosen hero. He is a tired man who slowly learns to turn the system's own tools against it, all the way down to Executive Management.

How It Plays

  • One thumb. Move with one thumb. Your office weapons fire automatically in the direction you move.
  • Dash. A quick dash gets you out of trouble, and some builds turn it into an attack.
  • Performance Reviews. Collect Overtime from defeated enemies to trigger a review, then pick an upgrade that changes how your existing skills behave.
  • The floor is being deleted. Every department collapses behind you. Each floor asks the same question: stay and grab more rewards, or run for the elevator before you are deleted with it.

The Run

A full run takes about 12–18 minutes across five departments. Orientation opens every run, three middle departments rotate by seed (Mail Room, Operations, Human Resources, Call Center, and IT), and the run ends with a boss fight in Executive Management.

Death ends the run. There are no checkpoints and no retries mid-run; you keep what you earned toward long-term progression and clock in again.

Builds

Upgrades are designed to change how a build behaves, not only to make numbers bigger. The first three build styles:

  • Burnout Cascade. Stack burnout on enemies and let it chain from one to the next as they go down.
  • Red Tape Dash. Your dash lays down red tape that roots enemies in place while orbiting stationery shreds them.
  • Delegation Department. Leave behind copies of yourself that fight for you and spread your on-kill effects.

Business Model

The plan is a free, complete introductory run (a shorter three-department shift) with a one-time purchase to unlock the full game. The purchase is only offered outside of active play. Pricing has not been set.

Content Note

Stylized, non-graphic death and dark workplace humor. The satire is aimed at institutions and management, not at the people stuck working in them.

Current Status

Fat, Dead, & in a Dungeon is in development and is not available on any app store yet.

What exists today: a playable three-department build with the office-worker character, keyboard combat, collapsing floors, Performance Review upgrades, and the desktop-style menu. It installs and runs on a Samsung Galaxy Android tablet as a debug build.

What is next: testing the three-department build with outside players until it is fun, then building out the full five-department run and the Executive Management finale.
